Color-octet heavy-quark potential from the instanton vacuum

Abstract
We present recent results for the color-octet heavy-quark potential from the instanton vacuum. The potential is defined by the Wilson loop, which will be computed within the instanton-liquid model for the QCD vacuum. We find that the color-octet heavy-quark potential turns out to be similar to the color-singlet one. We discuss the instanton effects on the color-octet heavy-quark potential and their physical implications. We also estimate the chormoelectric polarizabilities of charmonia.
