Abstract content
It is generally believed that the cosmic rays below the ankle of the energy spectrum are of galactic origin whereas those having energies above this energy are extragalactic though there are also suggestions for lower transitional energies. We have critically examined such hybrid scenario of origin of cosmic rays and have concluded that a single type of source for all energies is more consistent and reasonable.
