Proton decays are sought as manifestation of baryon number violation predicted by Grand Unification. Their amplitudes depend on nonperturbative QCD, and we calculate them on a lattice with chirally symmetric quarks at the physical point for the first time. The LHCb experiment is playing a crucial role in the study of rare and forbidden decays of charm hadrons, which are sensitive to effects beyond the Standard Model. New searches for FCNC-mediated processes and asymmetry measurements in final states with two leptons are presented.
