Abstract

I illustrate how resonance masses and widths can be extracted from Bethe-Salpeter equations (BSEs) with valence quark degrees of freedom, using the rho meson as the prime example. The existing calculations employ contour deformations to solve the BSE for complex resonance momenta on the first Riemann sheet and analytic continuations to access the second sheet. Direct calculations on the second sheet are also possible, but for this one needs to solve the full scattering equation.
