Direct and Indirect Methods of Vortex Identification in Continuum Theory

Abstract
Being motivated by the challenging problem of confinement, we investigate QCD vacuum by the center vortex model. Inspired by DMCG and IMCG methods to identify vortices in lattice calculations and using Suganuma decomposition, we show in both methods under singular center gauge fixing, vortices appear in QCD vacuum in the continuum theory. Then, using the center projection, QCD theory is reduced to a gauge theory including vortices, which corresponds to the non-trivial first homotopy group.
