In this talk we show how to apply the SCET formalism to factorize Double Drell-Yan process involving a pion and a proton, with four leptons and the proton in the final state. We will show how the factorization of the cross-section leads to the appearance of a Double TMD and two GTMDs. Additionally, we will show how the subsequent zero-bin subtraction leads to the appearance of a new Soft Factor an ... More

In the spin-1 deuteron, there are additional polarized structure functions which do not exist in the spin-1/2 nucleons. We discuss our recent studies on the gluon transversity and transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) for spin-1 hadrons [1,2]. [1] S. Kumano and Qin-Tao Song, Phys. Rev. We apply the formalism developed by Kovchegov and Sievert (2019) for studying transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) at small-$x$ to construct the small-$x$ asymptotics of the quark Sivers function. We explicitly construct the fundamental “polarized Wilson line” operator to sub-sub-eikonal order and express the quark Sivers function in terms of this new operator. We ... More

We present a study of the transverse momentum parton distribution function of the pion, from pion-induced Drell-Yan (DY) lepton-pair production with existing data. We confront the impact of matching the high-transverse momentum collinear fixed order perturbative QCD pT with the low-pT TMD spectrum using using TMD factorization formalism on extracting the pion pdfs and TMDs. A Monte Carlo QCD g ... More

The collinear factorization theorem, combined with finite-order calculations in perturbative QCD, provides a powerful framework to obtain predictions for many collider observables. However, for observables which involve multiple energy scales, transverse degrees of freedom cannot be neglected, and finite-order perturbative calculations have to be combined with resummed calculations to all orders i ...
