We determine $R_{\tau/P}\equiv \Gamma(\tau \to P \nu_\tau [\gamma]) / \Gamma(P \to\mu \nu_\mu[\gamma])$ ($P=\pi, K$). Whereas $P$ decays are calculated by using Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT), $\tau$ decays are studied with an effective approach where ChPT is enlarged by including the lightest resonances and following the high-energy behavior dictated by QCD. These ratios allow us to test the l ... More

A theoretical analysis of the $C$-conserving semileptonic decays $\eta^{(\prime)}\to\pi^0l^+l^-$ and $\eta^\prime\to\eta l^+l^-$ ($l=e$ or $\mu$) is carried out within the framework of the Vector Meson Dominance model. A phenomenological model is then used to parametrise the VMD couplings and numerical values are obtained from an optimisation fit. The signature of CP violating operators from the S ... More

For a general $H_b\to H_c\tau\bar{\nu}$ decay we analyze the role of the $\tau$ polarization vector in the context of LFU violation studies. We use a general phenomenological that includes several new physics terms. We show that both in the laboratory frame and in the center of mass, a $\mathcal{P}$ component is only possible for complex Wilson coefficients. We make specific evaluations of the pol ... More

The recent results at Belle of $\mathcal{B}(\tau^-\to\nu_\tau\pi^-\ell\overline{\ell})$, considered the most important background of some possible LFV and LNV processes, has encouraged us to make a reanalysis of these decays. In this work, we use $\chi$PT extended to include resonances, (R$\chi$T) to compute the effective vertex $W^\star\gamma^\star P$ involved in such processes including effects ... More
