Abstract
The recent results at Belle of $\mathcal{B}(\tau^-\to\nu_\tau\pi^-\ell\overline{\ell})$, considered the most important background of some possible LFV and LNV processes, has encouraged us to make a reanalysis of these decays. In this work, we use $\chi$PT extended to include resonances, (R$\chi$T) to compute the effective vertex $W^\star\gamma^\star P$ involved in such processes including effects not considered in previous analyses. The first ever prediction with $K$ instead of $\pi^-$ is given.
