In this talk we present the latest results on charm production obtained with the ALICE detector in pp collisions as well as recent measurements of charm-quark fragmentation fractions in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$ TeV. This is complemented by the charmed baryon-to-meson production ratios whose enhancement with multiplicity suggests modifications of the hadronisation mechanism. These results ... More

From a deformed AdS$_5$ space, we used the string/ gauge duality to study the deep inelastic scattering for unpolarized fermions with spin 1/2, considering the large Bjorken $x$ parameter regime. Here, we also took into account an anomalous dimension of an operator which represents fermions at the boundary. From this analysis, we compute the corresponding structure functions, which are dependent o ... More

We present the first-ever description the world data on the $g_1^{p,n}$ structure function at small Bjorken $x$ using evolution equations in $x$ derived from first principles QCD. This analysis within the JAM global framework that allows us to fit all existing polarized DIS data below $x<0.1$ as well as predict future measurements of small $x$ $g_1^{p,n}$ at the EIC. This is a necessary step in de ... More

On the example of the CT18 NNLO global analysis at large x, we discuss strategies for comparing predictions of nonperturbative QCD approaches to the local x and as Q dependence of phenomenological PDFs. Impact of functional mimicry and scale dependence on effective powers of (1-x) falloff of PDFs is reviewed.

Type: Leading parallel Session: QCD and hadron structure-A1
Track: QCD and Hadron Structure
Following our recent Monte Carlo global analysis of the pion’s PDFs from Drell-Yan and leading neutron electroproduction data in the Jefferson Lab angular momentum (JAM) collaboration, we extend the next-to-leading order analysis to include effects from threshold resummation at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. We also present the success of fitting to large transverse momentum data and disc ... More
