Description

In the development of some new particle detectors, photomultiplier tubes are used. For this, you must know the functionality, the operation parameters, and the characteristics of the PMT. We report the planning, design, construction and testing of an experimental system for the study and characterization of photomultiplier tubes type Emi 9954B. The experimental system consists of five modules: the voltage distributor, the discriminator circuit, the veto-detectors, the dark box, and the photomultiplier that is studied. We present technical details of the design and construction, and the preliminary results of the characterization and study of this type of photomultipliers.
