Content
The study of the heavy ion collisions is of great interest in high energy physics due to expected phase transition from the nucleons to the quark gluon plasma. But to have a full picture of the effect there is a lack of experimental data in the low energy region for the nuclei-nucleus collisions. The goal of the NICA project at JINR is to cover the energy range from 2 GeV/n to 11 GeV/n for the collisions of the protons and nuclei up to gold. The NICA experiments will provide data with good quality and enough statistics to clarify physics of this phenomenon.
