Abstract content
The continuously changing interplanetary plasma and field values are known to produce geomagnetic field disturbances. Various investigators have used solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field parameters to established relationships between them. Yearly studies had established the relative role of solar wind as well as the magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field, which is generating the geomagnetic field disturbances. On long-term based analysis we have come to the conclusion that on average basis, the electric current (VB) is most effective parameter to produce larger geomagnetic disturbances.
