Content

This conversation aims to create a space of reflection within the community on the history of the participation of Latin American institutes in CERN activities, sharing opinions on how to fully realize their potential in current and future projects.

It will feature short introductory talks on: - current participation from Latin American institutes in CERN activities; - recollections of the first groups to participate in the CERN experimental programme; - shared experiences of the earliest, and most recent, teams to join the LHC experiments.

An open discussion with wide participation from the audience will spotlight common challenges, within a diversity of approaches to overcome them.

These discussions are particularly relevant also echoing the LASF4RI-HECAP strategy process, with an eye on the European Particle Physics Strategy update that is getting started, and as CERN looks at fully leveraging the High-Lumi LHC programme and building the community around the FCC.
