New heavy-ion collision experiments are turning to hard processes. Quarkonia or open heavy flavors are versatile probes, mostly described through models based on pQCD, AdS, or EFTs. LQCD provides nonperturbative input and constraints to such models. I discuss in-medium bottomonia, the complex static quark-antiquark energy, and the heavy-quark momentum diffusion coefficient, which are key quantiti ... More

We have studied the properties of quarkonium states in a non-equilibrium bulk viscous QGP medium. We have computed the dielectric permittivity of the viscous medium within the HTL approximation, which has been used to compute the in-medium heavy quark complex potential. Using the deformed potential, we have computed the wave functions, binding energies, and decay widths of heavy quarkonia. Further ... More

In recent years there has been much progress on the investigation of the QCD phase diagram with lattice QCD. This talk will focus on the developments in the last few years with physical parameters and low chemical potential. Many of these results are important for the understanding of both the QCD transition in the early universe and heavy ion collision experiments which are conducted at heavy io ... More

We present results of the bottomonium meson spectrum using the NRQCD approximation at finite temperature using our FASTSUM collaboration's lattice simulations. Various numerical techniques including machine learning, Backus Gilbert and Bayesian approaches are compared to obtain estimates of the masses and widths of these states.

We study how to include bound states in a thermal gas in the context of quantum field theory (QFT). We have used a scalar QFT with a $\phi^4$ interaction where the field $\phi$ represents a particle with mass $m$. We observe the creation of bound states when the coupling constant is negative and its modulus is larger than a certain critical value. Then we investigate the contribution of this bound ... More
