We have arranged with a touristic agency three tours during the weekend. If you are interested, visit the following links. This is directly coordinated with the agency.

HAWC site Visit

We are delighted to offer a visit to the HAWC Observatory as part of our upcoming meeting, see details below:

Tentative itineraryWe could suffer delays for several hours,  the time depends on traffic.

Friday, April 12th:

5:00 pm - departure to Puebla from Hotel Geneve

7:00 pm - arrival at Hotel Marriott in Puebla

Saturday, April 13th:

7:30 am - departure from Marriott to HAWC site

10:00 am - 1 pm - HAWC site visit

1:00 pm - departure from HAWC site to Marriott

3:30  pm - arrival at Marriott Hotel

4:30 pm - departure from Marriott to Hotel Geneve in Mexico City

7:30 pm - arrival at Hotel Geneve

Total cost:

  • MXN 1,360 per person (~ USD 85 assuming a dollar change of 16 pesos per dollar)

Total cost includes:

  • Transportation: 
    • Round-trip transportation from the Hotel Geneve in Mexico City to the Marriott Hotel in Puebla, departing on Friday, April 12th, in the afternoon.
    • Transportation from the Marriott to the HAWC Observatory and back on Saturday.
    • Paramedic service at the site
    • Entrance permit to the site.

What is not included in the cost:

  • meals, we recommend having a heavy breakfast and bringing food for the entire day. There are no places to buy food on our way to the site, or at the site, or on the road CMX-Puebla. Because of the tight schedule, we are not planning any stops.
  • accommodation, you should arrange your accommodation either at the Marriott Hotel or any other hotel near Marriot.

This visit is conditioned to a minimum of 30 persons joining and a maximum of 40 persons. We will accept the first 40 registrations.

Please be aware that the HAWC site is located at an altitude of 4,100 meters above sea level and poses certain risks. Be sure you read the document provided. For safety reasons, no individuals under the age of 17 are permitted, and we strongly advise against participating in this visit if you have any medical conditions that could be exacerbated by high altitudes.
