Abstract

The mass composition of primary cosmic rays is deduced from the sensitivity of the observables that can be obtained when the distribution of the measured quantities is compared with hadronic models for different types of primary particles, these models usually make an extrapolation of the parameters to ultra-high energies (of the order of tens of TeV) where measurements from ultra-energetic cosmic ray experiments are reported, which represent an ideal scenario for testing the gluonic and Froissart saturation limits that tell us that in the high-energy limit the effective section is bounded by the limit of ln2s and whose experimental confirmation remains an open problem.
