Towards a phenomenological determination of nucleon structural charges.

In this seminar, we discuss the extraction of fundamental properties of
the nucleon — the charges corresponding to structural currents. These
charges are related, through sum rules, to Parton Distribution
Functions. The PDFs of interest have been extracted from Deep Inelastic
processes. We examine the present status of the transversity PDF. We
consider the impact of future experiments, in particular JLab@12, on the
corresponding tensor charge.

There is a continuous interplay between probing hadron structure and
electroweak physics: the structural charges, form factors as well as
PDFs are significant for search of new physics. We discuss constraints
on the possibility of an electroweak tensor interaction.
