Abstract content
The existence of non-baryonic Dark Matter (DM) is well established by cosmological and astrophysical probes. However, despite the great experimental ef ort over many years, its nature still remains elusive. Elucidating the long-standing puzzle of the nature of dark matter constitutes one of the most important challenges of modern cosmology and particle physics. I will present a model where the stability of DM arises as a remnant of a non-Abelian discrete flavor symmetry. In this framework, the left-handed matter transform non-trivially under the flavor group Delta(54). Neutrino masses arise from type-II seesaw, with an inverse hierarchy spectrum and a non-trivial correlation between neutrino oscillation parameters, consistent with the recent Daya-Bay and RENO reactor angle measurements.
