| Description |
We provide a concise review of the theoretical framework known as Geometric Cosmology (GC). This class of theories exhibits several notable features: the equations of motion for maximally symmetric spacetimes are second order in the metric; no additional propagating degrees of freedom arise beyond the standard massless graviton; black-hole solutions are admitted; the equations of motion for Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) backgrounds are also second order; the framework naturally provides a geometric mechanism for both early- and late-time cosmic acceleration; it ensures a smooth transition from the inflationary epoch to the General Relativity regime; and perturbations in the time coordinate remain second order. Furthermore, we present our most recent results demonstrating the viability of specific GC models that are consistent with current observational constraints.
