Summary
Even though photomultiplier tubes technology is turning more than a century, it is still used with many advantages over recent solid-state technology like SiPM, with many applications in medicine, oil exploration, lidar communication, astrophysics, high energy physics, cosmic ray detection, etc. For cosmic ray detection and astrophysics applications, we designed, constructed, characterized, and applied an output electronic circuit for the Photo Multiplier Tube (PMT) EMI 9954 B. We present technical details of this electronic device, and some preliminary physics results on cosmic ray detection.
