Abstract
The ICARUS experiment employs the Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber technology to search for sterile neutrino signatures. This experiment is the Far Detector of the Short-Baseline Neutrino program (SBN) at Fermilab, which uses the Booster beam and is located 103 mrad off-axis from the NuMI beamline. The NuMI neutrinos interactions will provide the basis for ν-Ar cross-section measurements as well as tests of models in a few GeV energy ranges. This study will focus on a cross-section measurement of muon neutrino charged current interactions. Since the detector is located on the surface a discussion on mitigating the large cosmic ray rate will also be discussed. This work will discuss the prospects of NuMI cross-section measurements with ICARUS and will highlight the status of the muon study.
