 Welcome to the Offline Workshop and Tutorial in Karlsruhe

The main goals of the workshop are to introduce the following concepts coupled with guided exercises:

  • Data analysis using ADSTs (python & ROOT)
  • APE and Offline installation
  • Offline applications for SD (including Universality), FD, MD, and RD data reconstruction
  • Offline foundations and framework
  • Offline development (e.g. coding style)
  • Database setup and access

To access these, click on the folder on the upper-right hand corner of each session. All of the recorded sessions (videos) are uploaded there as well. 

Access to Offline

Prior to the workshop, we asked that participants install APE and Offline using these instructions. For information on git and svn, please see these notes.

For the workshop, a virtual box with a Xubuntu 16.04 LTS system was prepared and used during the workshop. This image includes the current externals, Offline, and analysis software (python packages...). It can be downloaded from the Observer public directory:

sftp -P443 gaugo@augerlogin.ikp.kit.edu (pinch auger password)

The image is located in data/OfflineWorkshop/xubuntu_16_04_64.vdi.7z
