Abstract content
With the data from CDF at an integrated luminosity of 6fb−1, we study the same sign dimuon events in the low mass spectra (below 5GeV) with Pt > 8GeV. Upon applying tight identification cuts on the leading muon and loose identification cuts in the second, when reconstructing the muons’ mass, an increased number of events remains below 5 GeV (for the pre-stripped data from CDFPEWK) at Pt > 15GeV . Furthermore by applying tight identification cuts on both legs, few events persist, nevertheless they represent around 20% of the stripped data below 300GeV. By stripping directly the events, they have been determined as fake tracks or statistical fluctuations of the data collected, extending our study to Pt > 8GeV . With this study we do not observe any effect which would warrant continuation of this analysis.
