In the present work a cuadratic potential of the form $V({\phi})=Vo+\frac{m}{2}\phi^{2}$ is reproduced by a compactification of the Type IIB string theory in a twisted torus in presence of either geometrical and non geometrical fluxes. In order to obtain an SUGRA effective action with N=1, D=4 further ingredients as orientifold planes are also implemented. Finally the inflation potential is c

Measuring the electron anti-neutrino component of the cosmic diffuse supernova neutrino background is the next ambitious goal for low-energy neutrino astronomy. We explore possible modifications to the detection rate of this flux due to a new non-standard coupling of neutrinos with a hypothetical scalar field dark matter candidate. We will show that this effect could give information about the pro

KASCADE-Grande is an air-shower observatory devoted to the detection
of cosmic rays with energies in the range of $10^{16}$ and $10^{18}$ eV.
This energy region is of particular interest for the cosmic ray astrophysics,
since it is the place where several models predict the existence of a galactic-
extragalactic transition in the cosmic ray spectrum and the presence of a
break

Recent astronomical observations reveal that Active Galactic
Nuclei are sources of high-energy radiation. For example, the
Fermi-Lat and Hess telescopes have detected gamma-ray
emissions from the cores of Centaurus A and M87. Even more,
the Pierre Auger observatory has found a correlation of ultra-high
energy cosmic ray events with the position of AGN's, such as
Centaurus

We study the conditions an arbitrary flux compactification must fulfill in order to construct a 4d space-time of the type AdS2 x S2 from a type IIB supergravity flux compactification in which Neveu-Schwarz-Neveu-Schwarz (NS-NS) fluxes are included. We present a solution consisting on a compactification in the presence of 3-form NS-NS and Ramond-Ramond (RR) fluxes. The internal manifold is a SU(3)

We analyze the effects of phase space deformations in cosmology. The deformation is
introduced by modifying the symplectic structure of the theory. It is found that in
the deformed model the initial singularity is removed. Furthermore we find an
accelerating scale factor for the late time evolution. Finally a relationship
between the noncommutative parameter and the cosmological constant is es

We use the permutational symmetry group S(3) as a symmetry of flavour, which leads to a unified treatment of masses and mixings of the quarks and leptons. In this framework all mass matrices of the fermions in the theory have the same form with two texture zeros. Also, with the help of six elements of real matrix representation of S(3) as transformation matrices of similarity classes, we make a cl

this talk I shall speak about work we have done on standard cosmology,
with one scalar field, where typical QM problems may give a glimpse to
exact solutions in this field.

I will present a gavity dual of the non-supersymmetric baryonic branch of
Klebanov-Strassler. We first find a non-SUSY solution of D5 branes wrapped
on an S^2 and using a chain of dualities we arrive at the softly broken
baryonic branch of KS. We show that the field theory dual has a gaugino mass
and gaugino condensate and exhibits a weak version of Seiberg duality.

This work focuses on the analysis of data from the Pierre Auger Observatory extensions: Infill and HEAT in the range of 10^17-10^18 eV, because at these energies the transition from the galactic to extragalactic accelerators is expected. Also a spectral feature caused by the drop of the heavy component of the galactic cosmic rays has been predicted.

Since the first synthesis of plastic scintillators in high energy physics there has been a wide use in several experiments and from different areas.
Because of their fast response they are ideals for experiments where a high velocity for triggering is required.
The present work will show some studies about the synthesis of plastic scintillator for applications in high energy physics.

One of the goals of the LHC is the search for the existence of physics Beyond Standar Model, because of that, topics like Supersymmetry (SUSY), Extra Dimensions (XD) and others have taken additional relevance in theoretical research. In this work we present a SUSY model in 5D which does not have lorentz invariance in the extra dimension, and the rupture of this symmetry is given in an explicit way

We study the rare top decay t -> c l(+)l(-), which involves flavor violation, as a possible probe of new physics. This decay is analyzed with the simplest Standard Model (SM) extensions with additional gauge symmetry and the effective lagrangian formalism. The considered extensions are generic Z' model and left-right model, which include a new neutral gauge boson that allows to obtain the decay at

In this talk, we shall study how heterotic orbifold compactifications can lead to an acceptable flavor structure, avoiding the constraints on flavor-changing neutral currents usually extant in stringy supersymmetric models. The natural appearance of flavor symmetries plays a crucial role.

We study a possible suppression of the extragalactic neutrino flux due to a nonstandard interaction during neutrino propagation. In particular, we study neutrino interaction with an ultra-light scalar field dark matter. We show that the extragalactic neutrino flux may be suppressed by such an interaction, leading to a new mechanism to reduce the ultra-high energy neutrino flux. We conclude that ca

including the SM. Then I discuss the LHC bounds on the SM Higgs mass and its implications.
How the Higgs search is modified in extensions of the SM with 3 Higgs doublets is also
