 f Heidelberg\, Germany)\nOn June 2\, 2006\, the Swift Burst Alert Telescop
 e (BAT) triggered a bursting event in\nthe 15-350 keV energy band which la
 sted ~9 sec. The burst position was being observed\nwith the H.E.S.S. arra
 y of four Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) at\nenergies ab
 ove 100 GeV throughout the duration of the burst\, and both before and\naf
 ter the burst. A total of ~5 hours of observation was obtained during that
  night.\nThis is the first simultaneous observation of a soft gamma-ray bu
 rsting event with an\nIACT instrument. The Swift X-ray Telescope detected 
 an X-ray counterpart starting\nfrom 83 sec after the BAT trigger. No optic
 al/infrared counterpart was found. Due to\nthe very soft BAT spectrum of t
 he burst compared to other Swift gamma-ray bursts\n(GRBs) and its proximit
 y to the galactic center\, the burst might have been caused by\na galactic
  X-ray burster (e.g. a low-mass X-ray binary)\, although the possibility o
 f\nit being a cosmological GRB cannot be ruled out. We will discuss the im
 plications of\nthe observational data according to different bursting scen

 ov detector capable of observing air showers produced by  gamma- rays. The
  wide field of view (~2 sr) and high duty cycle (>90%) of Milagro make it 
 ideal for searching for transient very high energy emission. We will repor
 t on the results of a blind search of the Milagro data for very high energ
 y ranging from 160 μs to 6 minutes. While this analysis is primarily aime
 d at detecting  -ray bursts (GRBs)\, it could also be  sensitive to other 
 phenomena like primordial black-hole evaporation and soft gamma -ray repea
 ters. No trigger\nfrom another instrument is required\, instead the entire
  reconstructed data set is systematically searched in time\, space and emi
 ssion duration. Four years of Milagro data are searched\, which correspond
 s to 2920 sr days of exposure. While the peak sensitivity of Milagro is ab
 ove 1 TeV\, the detector has substantial effective area at lower energies 
 (~50 m^2 at 100 GeV\, ~2500 m^2 at 1 TeV).\n\nhttps://indico.nucleares.una

SUMMARY:Search for 1-100 GeV Emission from Gamma-Ray Bursts Using Milagro

 Cruz)\nMilagro is a wide field (2 sr) high duty cycle (>90%) ground based 
 water Cherenkov\ndetector built to observe extensive air showers produced 
 by high energy particles\ninteracting in the Earth's atmosphere. Milagro r
 ecords extensive air showers in the\nenergy range 100 GeV to 100 TeV\, as 
 well as the counting rates of the individual\nphotomultiplier tubes in the
  detector. The individual tube counting rates can be used\nto detect trans
 ient emission above ~1 GeV by the temporary increase in secondary\nshower 
 particles reaching the ground. We have used the counting rate data to sear
 ch\nfor high energy emission from a sample of about one hundred gamma-ray 
 bursts (GRB)\ndetected since the beginning of 2000 by BATSE\, BeppoSax\, H
 ETE-2\,\nINTEGRAL\, Swift or the IPN. No evidence for emission from  the G
 RBs was found.\nConsidering absorption by the extragalactic background lig
 ht\, upper limits on the\nfluence at four redshifts are determined for bur
 sts at unknown distances. For bursts\nwith known redshifts\, fluence upper
  limits in the energy range 1-100 GeV as low as\n8e-6 erg cm^-2 are obtain

 fect Experiment (STACEE) is an atmospheric\nCherenkov telescope that uses 
 a large mirror array to achieve a relatively low energy\nthreshold.  For s
 ources with Crab-like spectra\, at high elevations\, the detector\nrespons
 e peaks near 100 GeV.  Gamma-ray burst (GRB) observations have been a high
 \npriority for the STACEE collaboration since the inception of the experim
 ent.  We\npresent the results of 20 GRB follow-up observations ranging fro
 m 3 minutes to 15\nhours after the burst triggers.  Where redshift measure
 ments are available\, we place\nconstraints on the intrinsic high-energy s

SUMMARY:The Potential of GLAST in Observing Features in the High-Energy Sp
 ectra of GRBs

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: KOMIN\, Nukri (LPTA\, Université Montpellier 2\, CN
 RS/IN2P3\, Montpellier\, France)\nGLAST is a gamma-ray mission which will 
 be launched in November 2007. It is equipped\nwith the GLAST Burst Monitor
  (GBM) which detects Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) with high\nreliability and pr
 ovides a position and energy spectrum in the range between 10 keV\nand 30 
 MeV. The Large Area Telescope (LAT) will observe photons with energies fro
 m 20\nMeV up to more than 300 GeV. With GLAST it will be possible to study
  the spectra of\nGRBs over 7 orders of magnitude in energy and for the fir
 st time in the energy band\nabove several tens of GeV.\n\nFrom the high-en
 ergy part of GRB spectra new insights into the bursts physics can be\nexpe
 cted. Emission due to Inverse Compton scattering of electrons or due to\ni
 nteractions of hadrons would point to particles accelerated in the jets of
  the GRBs.\nA cut-off of the spectrum would allow to study internal absorp
 tion of gamma-rays in\nthe burst and external attenuation in interaction w
 ith the EBL.\n\nWe will present the study of simulated GRBs with respect t
 o features in the\nhigh-energy spectrum. We will discuss the performance o
 f GLAST of detecting cut-offs\nand additional high-energy emission.\n\nhtt
