 rt Department of ESA ESTEC\, Noordwijk)\nMagnetic clouds\, as subsets of I
 nterplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections\, are\nmodulating the interplanetary 
 space. We present six observed magnetic clouds\nand simulate them accordin
 g to the circular and the new elliptic cylindrical\nmodels. Both models co
 rrespond to magnetic clouds attached to the sun and \nthe \nsimulations es
 timate the characteristics of the clouds\, such\nprobable shapes\, orienta
 tion of their axis\, duration\, etc. In general\,\nmagnetic clouds can be 
 described by closed (attached) cylindrical models\,\nbut with an elliptic 
 rather than circular cylindrical shape.\n\n(This presentation is supported
