DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. SOUSA\, Alexandre (University of Oxford)\nThe Ma
in Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search (MINOS) long baseline experiment\n
has been actively taking beam data since 2005\, having already\naccumulate
d 2.6E20 protons-on-target. MINOS uses the most\npowerful neutrino beam cu
rrently in operation measured in two\nlocations: at Fermilab\, close to be
am production\, and 735 km\ndownstream\, in Northern Minnesota. By observi
ng the oscillatory\nstructure in the neutrino energy spectrum\, MINOS can
make the most\nprecise measurement of the mass-square difference neutrino
mixing\nparameter in the atmospheric sector.\nIn this talk\, The latest MI
NOS neutrino oscillation results are\npresented\, along with a discussion
of the MINOS sensitivity to other\nneutrino oscillation phenomena\, such a
s the nu_mu into nu_e subdominant\noscillation mode and oscillations into
 sterile neutrinos.\n\nhttps://indico.nucleares.unam.mx/event/4/session/63/

rino disappearance probability as a function of neutrino flight lenght \nL
over neutrino energy E was studied. A dip in the L/E distribution was bse
rved \nin the data from Super-Kamiokande-I+II\, as perdicted from the sinu
soidal flavor \ntransition probability of neutrino oscillation. The observ
 ed L/E distribution \nonstrained nu_mu nu_tau neutrino oscillation parame

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. PRETZ\, John (University of Maryland)\nThe IceCu
be Neutrino Detector is a cubic kilometer ice-Cherenkov detector being\nco
nstructed in the deep ice under the geographic South Pole. IceCube is sens
itive to\nhigh-energy muon neutrinos and muon anti-neutrinos by detecting
the secondary muon\nproduced when the neutrino interacts in or near the in
strumented volume. The\nprincipal source of muon neutrinos are atmospheric
neutrinos which come from the\ndecay of hadrons in cosmic-ray air showers
. IceCube operated during 2006 with 9 out\nof 80 anticipated strings in th
e ice. I will briefly describe the design and current\nstatus of the detec
tor and the major physics goals. I discuss the initial performance\nof the
detector and describe the first evidence that IceCube can find and recons
 truct\natmospheric neutrinos with high efficiency.\n\nhttps://indico.nucle

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ms. TAKENAGA\, Yumiko (ICRR\, University of Tokyo)\n
The Super-Kamiokande started observation in April of 1996 and continued th
e \ndata taking for five years of initial running period (SK-I) till the m
aintenance in \nJuly of 2001. The Super-Kamiokande continued the data taki
ng with the half \nPMT density in the second period (SK-II) from resuming
in December of 2002 to \nshutdown for the reconstruction to return the PMT
density in October 2005. \nUsing the atmospheric neutrino data of SK-I an
d SK-II\, various types of \noscillation analyses have been performed.\nTh
 e results from the nu_mu nu_tau 2 flavor oscillation analysis and the 3 \
nflavor oscillation analysis with the aim of searching for a non-zero 1-3
mixing \nwill be presented. The results from an oscillation analysis inclu
ding the sub-\ndominant oscillation effects driven by the solar oscillatio
 n terms (theta_12 and \ndm^2_12) will also be reported.\n\nhttps://indico.

started from July 06' as SK-III with 11126\n20inch PMTs. Calibration works

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. SMY\, Michael (Unversity of California\, Irvine)
\nSuper-Kamiokande-I studied low energy neutrino interactions above 4.5 Me
V.\nPhoto-cathode coverage has been restored to 40% in Super-Kamiokande-II
I in order to\nobserve Cherenkov events with an energy even below 4.5 MeV.
This is motivated by the\ntransition of solar neutrino oscillations betwe
en vacuum and matter-dominated\noscillations near 3 MeV and delayed neutro
n detection from inverse-beta interactions.\nI will discuss the progress i
n event reconstruction and background suppression as\nwell as future measu

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Prof. MUFSON\, Stuart (Indiana University)\nWe found
140 neutrino-induced muons in 854.24 live days in the MINOS far detector\
,\nwhich has an acceptance for neutrino-induced muons of 6.9e6 cm**2 sr.
We looked for\nevidence of neutrino disappearance in this data set by comp
uting the ratio of the\nnumber of low momentum muons to the sum of the num
ber of high momentum and unknown\nmomentum muons for both data and Monte C
arlo expectation in the absence of neutrino\noscillations. The ratio of t
 hose ratios is \n0.65 ^+0.15_-0.12 (stat) +/- 0.09 (syst)\, which is consi
stent with an oscillation\nsignal. The data were fit for the oscillation p
arameters and the null oscillation\nhypothesis is excluded at the 94% conf
idence level. We separated the muons by charge\nin both the data and Mont
e Carlo events and found the ratio in both samples. The\nratio of those r
atios is consistent with CPT conservation.\n\nhttps://indico.nucleares.una
