 tudy the capability of the MAGIC telescope to observe under moderate moonl
 ight.\nTeV gamma-ray signals from the Crab nebula were detected with the M
 AGIC telescope\nduring periods when the Moon was above the horizon and dur
 ing twilight. This was\naccomplished by increasing the trigger discriminat
 or thresholds. No change is\nnecessary in the high voltage settings since 
 the camera PMTs were especially designed\nto avoid high currents. We chara
 cterize the telescope performance by studying the\neffect of the moonlight
  on the \\gamma-ray detection efficiency and sensitivity\, as\nwell as on
