DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. COCCO\, Alfredo Giuseppe (Istituto Nazionale di 
 Fisica Nucleare)\nWe present a study of the interaction of low energy elec
 tron neutrinos\non nuclei that undergo beta decay. Remarkably\, we found t
 hat in\nthe limit of very low neutrino energy the product of the cross sec
 tion times\nthe neutrino velocity take values up to $10^{-42}$ cm$^2$ $c$ 
 for some specific\nnuclei that decay via allowed transitions. The absence 
 of an energy threshold\nand the value of the cross section single out thes
 e processes as the only ones\nhaving a realistic chance to unambiguously d
 etect electron neutrino with small\nenergy and mass. This represents a rea
 listic though very demanding approach\nfor future experiments aimed at a d
 irect detection of the cosmological relic\nneutrino background.\n\nhttps:/
