DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. ENGEL\, Ralph (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe\, Kar
 lsruhe Institute of Technology\, 76021 Karlsruhe)\nFor a long time radio e
mission accompanying extensive air showers (EAS) is considered\nas an alte
rnative to traditional methods of high energy cosmic ray detection (> 10^1
7\neV). In this paper\, results of simulations of radio signals from air s
howers with\nenergy greater than 10^17 eV are reported. The simulations ar
e based on a\ntrack-by-track radio emission calculation using the EGSnrc M
onte Carlo shower code.\nThe lateral distribution of the predicted radio e
mission pattern is compatible with\nthe recent LOPES-10 experimental data
at distances < 300 m. Perspectives of extending\nthe EAS radio emission ca
lculation to ultra-high energy (up to 10^20 eV) are also\ndiscussed.\n\nht
