DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. MISHEV\, alexander (Institute for Nuclear Resear
ch and Nuclear Energy\, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)\nThe transparency i
s one of the primary measures of the atmospheric state. The precise\nlong
term series of atmospheric transparency measurements gives the possibility
for\nquantitative estimate of the variability of air circulation and to m
ake climatologic\nconclusions with regard to contamination\, cloud formati
on\, humidity and radiative\nexchange. It seems to be possible to estimate
the atmospheric transparency on the\nbasis of atmospheric Cherenkov light
registration and corresponding Monte Carlo\nsimulations. Measuring the Ch
erenkov light flux produced in extensive air shower in\ndifferent atmosphe
ric conditions one obtains different amplitude spectra. This\nreflects on
the slope of the reconstructed spectrum. The different slopes of the\nreco
nstructed spectra correspond obviously to different atmospheric conditions
. In\nthis work are presented several CORSIKA simulations of the expected
density spectra\nat sea level and high mountain altitude observation level
 s. Several preliminary\nmeasurements with atmospheric Cherenkov telescope
and estimates are shown. The\npossibility to study different atmospheric p
 rofiles is discussed.\n\nhttps://indico.nucleares.unam.mx/event/4/session/
