DESCRIPTION:Speakers: TAM\, Pak Hin (Landessternwarte\, ZAH\, University o
f Heidelberg\, Germany)\nGamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are among the potential v
ery-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray\nsources. VHE emission from GRBs is predic
ted by most GRB models. Despite its\ngenerally fast-fading nature in many
wavebands\, the time evolution of any VHE\nradiation is still not clear. T
he highest energy radiation from GRBs ever detected\nfirmly by any instrum
ent was a 18 GeV photon coming from GRB 940217 detected with\nEGRET about
1.5 hour after the onset of the GRB. There is also a tentative detection\n
using MILAGRITO of TeV excess events from GRB 970417a. In order to probe t
he largely\nunexplored VHE spectra of GRBs\, a GRB observing program has b
een set up by the\nH.E.S.S. collaboration. With the high sensitivity of th
e H.E.S.S. array\, VHE flux\nlevels predicted by GRB models are well withi
n reach. Extra-galactic background light\nabsorption is taken into account
in cases where redshifts are known. We will present\nthe H.E.S.S. observa
tions of and results from some of the reported GRB positions\nduring the p
 ast few years.\n\nhttps://indico.nucleares.unam.mx/event/4/session/39/cont
