| Description |
Understanding the origin of fermion mass hierarchies and CP violation remains a fundamental challenge in particle physics. Target-space modular symmetries offer an elegant resolution by replacing intricate flavon sectors with geometric moduli, elevating Yukawa couplings to modular forms. In this talk, I will review the bottom-up formulation and discuss its systematic extensions and rich phenomenological applications, including near-critical flavor textures, neutrino masses, and the Strong CP problem. I will then trace their top-down origin in string theory through eclectic flavor symmetries, which arise directly from the intrinsic geometric symmetries of the compact space and systematically unify traditional flavor and modular transformations. Finally, I will briefly touch upon recent developments and open questions. Join Zoom Meeting https://unam.zoom.us/j/85882180732?pwd=T39BbcRraaKaHtSlhwv1RJZ6Oaza3P.1 Zoom Meeting ID: 858 8218 0732 |
