Abstract
We investigate the effects of compactified extra spatial dimensions on the anomalous chromomagnetic dipole moment (CMDM) of the top quark within the Universal Extra Dimensions (UED) model. The compactification of the extra dimensions gives rise to an infinite tower of Kaluza–Klein (KK) excitations associated with each Standard Model particle. Since couplings between zero modes and a single KK mode are absent at the classical level, the effects of extra dimensions on Standard Model observables first arise at the one-loop level. In this work, we calculate the one-loop contributions to the top-quark CMDM from the KK excitations of the top quark and gluons, focusing on the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) sector. This sector is expected to provide the dominant contribution, as occurs in the Standard Model, where QCD effects are larger than the electroweak and electromagnetic contributions. Our results allow us to assess the impact of KK excitations on the CMDM and investigate its sensitivity to new physics associated with extra spatial dimensions.
