Study of correlation effects in the same-sign W boson pair production at the LHC
Same-sign W boson pair production is one of the most promising channels for measuring properties of double parton scattering (DPS) at the LHC. This process has the advantage that the single parton scattering contribution at the same order is forbidden in the Standard Model. The different correlations can have an impact on the size of the DPS cross-section and significantly alter the distributions of particles in the final state. In this work we study different types of correlations, such as the quantum correlation between the spin of the two partons and the kinematic correlation between their longitudinal momentum fractions. We identify observables particularly promising for the experimental measurement of the various correlations.
