DPMJET-III 2016: An event generator for minimum-bias, heavy ion and cosmic ray physics

The DPMJET-III Monte Carlo event generator models interactions of hadrons, nuclei and photons with energies above a few GeV up to the highest cosmic ray energies. The photon-photon, photon-hadron and hadron-hadron part relies on a new version of the PHOJET Monte Carlo, that has been recently updated with new parton densities, the support for various baryon and meson projectiles and retuned parameters taking into account data from the LHC. DPMJET-III extends the phenomenology of PHOJET using a Glauber approach and intra-nuclear cascade phenomenology for nuclear targets. In this talk I will (re-)introduce the main ingredients, show recent calculations and discuss remaining short-comings of this code.
