Description

Lorentz Invariance Violation (LIV) models usually introduce this breaking in Particle Physics via two mechanisms, the first one is generic in nature and it is performed by modifying the dispersion relation, the second is through the spontaneous symmetry breaking of Lorentz symmetry. The minimum Standard Model Extended (mSME) adds to each sector of the Standard Model (SM) Lagrangian the collection of renormalizable operators from the spontaneous breaking of Lorentz symmetry. In this work we studied restrictive consequences from attenuation scenarios motivated by LIV models. Specifically, we present photon decay and vacuum Cherenkov radiation. We found that the restrictive nature of these processes for cosmic rays propagation and the current measurements from cosmic ray telescopes allow us to derive upper limits to the scale of Lorentz Invariance Violation from the generic mechanism in the photon sector.
