Social events

  • welcome reception: on Friday, March the 1st 2019, 6:30 pm a welcome reception with wine and empanadas will take place at the Pierre Auger Observatory Headquarters. Options for vegetarians will be available.

  • full day (and night) excursion: on Wednesday, March the 6th 2019, 11:30 am. Transfer to Castillos de Pincheira where a traditional argentinian asado will be organized. Options for vegetarians will be available. Hiking will be possible. We will have a light dinner there if needed. Finally at night we will go for star gazing (depending on weather conditions). Please bring a hat and sunscreen for the day and warm clothes for the night.

Auger Day

  • visit to FD-Coihueco building and SD field: on Thursday, March the 7th 2019, 2 pm. Transfer and visit to the HEAT-Coihueco Fluorescence Detector buildings and to the Surface Detector stations. A pocket lunch will be offered. Please bring a hat, sunscreen and extra water.

  • FD data taking shift: on Thursday, March the 7th 2019, 9 pm. Introduction to the Fluorescence Detector data-taking procedure and participation to the ongoing FD shift.
